Homework needs to be completed independently with parent supervision.  I suggest going over the Directions with your child before they begin their homework especially Math.  Directions are often overlooked so highlighting or underlining key terms might be helpful.  Check on your child midway to make sure they understand the homework and is doing it correctly.  Homework is a review and reinforcement of skills taught in the classroom.  It should be completed with ease in a reasonable amount of time.  If you see your child struggling, please contact me and I will provide extra support.  Upon completion of homework, skim through the work to make sure they have done the work completely.  Any obvious mistake should be corrected right away.  A quiet place with no distractions is the best environment for your child to focus.  Also, make sure supplies are readily accessible.
